How to Have the Best Bridal Shower

If you’re about to tie the knot, then there’s a good chance you’re going to throw a bridal shower. This party can be a wonderful way for you to celebrate with your friends and family while also preparing for the wedding.

It can be easy to put the bridal shower on the backburner while you’re rushing around planning the perfect wedding. To prevent that, I made a list of simple yet thoughtful things you can do to help guarantee that you’ll have a bridal shower worth remembering.

  • Have a cute theme

Everyone loves a party with a theme! This can be a simple theme or an intricate one, all that matters is that it is one that people can dress up for and have a good time. An 80s theme or a Halloween theme sound whacky at first, but the photos will all be worth it.

  • Have a good guest list

Your family and friends should all be there, but if you’re more of an introvert, don’t feel obligated to have a giant celebration. A small bridal shower can be intimate and bring everyone closer together.

  • Pick a great location

Traditionally, bridal showers were meant to help get the bride-to-be and her house ready for the upcoming marriage. Nowadays, there’s a lot more flexibility on where you can host a bridal shower.

Many people are picking memorable locations such as the local arboretum or a yacht from companies like Anita Dee Yacht Charters to gather and celebrate. Just be mindful of the weather wherever you’re at before booking an event- a bad weather day can ruin a bridal shower.

  • Take advantage of modern technology

If the idea of hiring a photographer for this event sounds a bit out of your price range, don’t worry! You can still create unique photos and albums at your bridal shower. Create a cute hashtag, make an album on Facebook, or even create your own Snapchat filter- the possibilities are endless!

  • Create a group playlist

One thing you can do that’s simple and yet unique is to create a group playlist. Everyone can join it, whether you use Spotify or another music streaming site. Once everybody adds a couple of their favorite songs, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind playlist that everyone can take home with them!

  • Invent a new cocktail

If you’re throwing a bridal shower, the bride deserves to have her own memorable drink. Be creative and make sure there’s enough for everybody to try!

  • Do something

Okay, I get that this sounds pretty vague, but a party can get stale pretty quickly once everyone is done eating and making small talk. A cheesy party game is bound to embarrass the bride, but it’s all in good fun.

If that’s not your speed, a creative activity or craft project can be a fun group activity that leaves everyone with a personalized souvenir. Picture frames are inexpensive and easy to decorate, and your guests also get a frame to show off the pictures they took at the shower!
